The J.D. Power Awards have long been the go-to place for drivers hunting for their next vehicle. The studies and surveys offer a real-world representation of what new vehicle owners can expect. This year, the Nissan Altima and Murano proved their worth by taking home a few new J.D. Power Awards.
The Nissan Altima, a midsize sedan, and Murano, an SUV, placed as category winners in the 2017 J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study. Now in its 22nd year, the APEAL study asks vehicle owners to evaluate their new models for a score out of 1,000 points.
The midsize sedan segment is usually a tight race, but the Nissan Altima pulled through spectacularly, placing two points ahead of the runner up. The Nissan Murano took a solid lead, coming in eight points ahead of the runner up.
In addition to its APEAL Study category awards, the Nissan Altima and Murano placed first in the Midsize Car and Midsize SUV segments, respectively. They weren’t the only Nissan models taking home some major awards, though.
The Nissan Titan, a large light duty pickup, took second place in its segment. The Nissan Rogue stole the show with a 46-point improvement on 2016’s results.
We here at Tom Naquin Nissan are happy to see such good results from a major study!
